May 20th, 2009 — AP English
So, we’ll be talking a bit about the AP Final (grades are up). I’ll be hiding behind the podium. We may need to talk about an alternative rhetorical analysis paper based on the Arts & Letters Daily site. I hope to get the Synthetic essays graded by Friday.
Then, we’ll read Act I, Scene 1 in class and talk a bit about it before starting the movie version of Hamlet.

March 12th, 2009 — 10th Grade English
We’ll start with WASL! We’ll look at the persuasive prompt first, prepare a little pre-write for it, check out the anchor papers, and then talk strategy. We’ll take a look at the expository prompt as well.
Then, we’ll see the Career speeches. Remember, 1-2 minutes and visuals.
Finally, we’ll talk about the first chapter of AQ. We’ll use this worksheet.

Here are the details about the Job Shadow and Thank You Letter , due Feb 26th. The full career portfolio will also include a resume, cover letter and a short speech on your profession. All written work is due Feb 26th. Speeches will start March 3rd.
