An army of Job shadows can’t hold me back

The 1st semester is almost over…last chance…
I want to give you the write-up for the Job Shadow. The due date is March 5th. We’ll talk networking and Pages in class a bit.
Then, we’ll peer edit. I’d like you to get 3 editors to look at your rough draft. The edits will go like this:
Editor 1: Logos — Look for logical arguments, quoted authorities, facts and statistics, and cause-effect. Look especially at quotes–are they orphaned in the middle of paragraphs or are they set up and used effectively. Is there a works cited page? (Use BibMe or Citation Machine)
Editor 2: Pathos and Ethos — Look for appeals to emotion, cool turns of phrase, metaphors and other framing devices, attempts to address personal credibility, and explanations of why the speaker is someone worth listening to.
Editor 3: 5 parts and mechanics — Check to make sure the essay has 5 parts: hook/interest grabber, set-up of the problem, explanation of a solution, rebuttal, and call to action.
Afterwards, I’ll let you work. The essay is due (typed, double spaced, with sources MLA formatted) February 8th.
